About
Didier Schlienger was born in 1977 in the Haut-Rhin (ALSACE/FRANCE), he is a self-taught artist.
He has always been sensitive to the world around him, but his background is more technical than
artistic.
This sensitivity led him to work very early on in sustainable development and to question the impact of our activities on our environment. In 2000, a report on wind power in Denmark led him to take a Specialised Masters in renewable energy at Arts et Métiers Paris Tech. Since then, he has been working in the wind energy sector for the company Ostwind International.
He quickly understood the change of civilisation we are living, its impact on our way of life, our food, our economy and our companies.
Very active in other fields as well, he studied for example acupuncture at the Free Faculty of
Traditional Chinese Energy. Painting is no stranger to him, he started painting at the age of 18, painting numerous abstract oil canvases. His family life distracted him for a while from this passion, which came back to him in power.
The year 2020 began with a real need to create with his hands and opened his eyes to the obvious extension of his professional commitment to that of creation, which has always animated him. Eureka, the artistic path is revealed, the planets align.
With 20 years of experience working to limit global warming, he set out to highlight his artistic
sensibility.
The touch of materials awakens his senses and fuels projects combining technique and art. Creative and passionate, he wishes, through sculpture and painting, to trigger reflections, bring a complementary vision, a different experience.
Through his research in this adventure, he is surprised that the couple Arts/Energies is so little treated.
Schlienger Didier
Fossil energies and nuclear power have done a lot of good by contributing to the development of the
economy and more broadly to progress.
For several decades now, renewable energies have inevitably taken over. It must be acknowledged
that they are fabulous and have many arguments in their favour.
Decentralisation, independence, unlimited raw materials, extremely competitive costs, controlled
risks, production without CO2 emissions, etc.
They fully meet the needs while sustainably preserving our finite Earth. The major historical players and the business community understand this perfectly well by taking part in this transition.
And yet….
The political will is sometimes lacking and the obstacles are still too numerous. This hesitation, this complacency, does not provide an answer that is equal to the challenges. We are losing time that we cannot make up for in the face of global warming.
He wishes to use Art to advance the debate and thus to nourish reflections. Isn’t art the only
universal language?
This link, which combines professional and creative passion, is today for him an evidence. He paints and sculpts to express what he feels and perceives. He interprets the energy sector.
This is how he works on the creation of sculptures and paintings.
His ambition is also to convey his vision of change to the public through various events and exhibitions.
